This is a Herbaceous perennial which can be found from eastern Canada to the southern United States. It grows in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Featuring flat-topped clusters of tiny yellow flowers in late spring atop 3' tall stems. Foliage tends to die back as summer moves along and in ideal conditions the Zizia aurea can reseed heavily. It is recognized as a host plant for the larvae of the Swallow Tail Butterfly. Also a good cut flower.

Sun to Semi Shade, Medium Moisture Soil, Spring/Summer, 1-3' Tall, Zones 3-8
