Osmunda regalis - Royal Fern, Locust Leaf Fern

 

This unique fern boasts a striking appearance and can grow to impressive sizes. Its coarse foliage closely resembles that of a locust tree. Ideally, this fern should be planted in a sunny and wet area, where it can reach heights of up to 6 feet. It is even capable of thriving in shallow water. As a clump grower, it will not spread through runners but will gradually form into large clumps over the course of several years. To enjoy a more mature plant, opt for the Gallon or bareroot size. This fern thrives in sunlit areas with wet soil and can reach a height of 3-6 feet.
