Actaea pachypoda - Dollseye

This plant is ideal for shaded gardens, with 18-30 inch tall foliage ranging from light to dark green. It produces a single bloom per stalk, typically standing 12 inches above the foliage, but can have multiple stalks once fully mature. After blooming, it forms a white seed pod with a distinctive black spot, resembling a doll's eye. This feature earned it the common name of "Dollseye," as it was once believed that women attached these pods to their dolls.
