Penstemon smallii - Smalls Penstemon


This is a beautiful native plant that grows 1-2' tall in dry to moist soil in full sun to partial shade. Blooming in late June-July with a beautiful pink flower above green foliage. It thrives in poor soil, in fact it has a tendency to be short-lived in good soil. This flower attracts bees and hummingbirds and is somewhat deer resistant. Found mostly in the Southeast.
